Description

Vintage advertising sign from Buster Brown Apparel, Inc. At the bottom of the glass covering the ad is written in white ink:
Found in Canton, Texas, 1974
by Dan Herdon of "Elizabeth Thorpe"
Shroveport, L.A. - Circa 1924
I am assuming the date of 1924 is close judging by the style of the woman's dress. The glass in the frame is broken about 2/3 of the way up (see photos). I did not want to replace the glass because the inscription at the bottom would be lost.
The frame is16.5" tall and 9" wide. It is wood - black with gold trim - and has a black matte. It is in very good condition except for the broken glass.
This item is from Buster Brown Apparel, Inc., founded in 1904 in Chattanooga, TN. The company was not affiliated with the Brown Shoe Group of St. Louis, MO. The apparel company made children’s clothes and women and children's anklets - the shoe group made Buster Brown Shoes. Though not affiliated, some Buster Brown socks were sold in the Buster Brown Shoe Stores. The Buster Brown trademark, licensed to Buster Brown Apparel, was sold to Kleinert’s of Alabama in 1999.
Will ship via USPS Priority Mail.
