    Description

    Bolivia, Spanish Colonial, 2 Reales 1773 PTS/JR, KM53. Fractional Reales are far scarcer than the Dollar sized "Piece of Eight" (8 Reales), as they were used far more in day-to-day use. This is also America's first "Quarter" and the origin of the term "Two Bits" for that denomination.  A nice average circulated coin, which appears fully original and not sea salvaged.  As always, guaranteed to be genuine.
